HPUD has been directed by a Consent Order from the state and federal government to make improvements to the sanitary sewer system, in order to eliminate sanitary sewer overflows. HPUD’s ACT Now Program includes a series of projects required by this Consent Order and all must be completed over the next ten (10) years.
While we are legally responsible for meeting these regulatory obligations, as a customer and ratepayer, each of you need to be educated regarding the issues and what HPUD is doing to meet these demands.
